Spotlight on aged care and community health

The space, once used for aged residential care, remains unused while Te Whatu Ora reviews its potential future use at a regional level. This situation reflects wider challenges facing our local health system — including capacity pressures, workforce shortages, and the need for long-term planning to meet the community’s needs as it continues to grow. While no formal plans have yet been released, the issue remains an important one to watch.
